Eastwood runs football for hundreds of children every week. Keeping them safe matters more
than any result, and everyone at the club shares that responsibility.
If a child is at immediate risk
Call 999. Do not wait to report it to the club first. Tell us afterwards so we can act on our side.
Raising a concern with the club
Our Safeguarding Officer is Zander Shayler. Any concern about a child’s welfare, about the
behaviour of an adult at the club, or about anything that does not feel right, should go to him.
You do not need to be certain, and you do not need proof. If something is worrying you, tell us. It is our job
to look into it, not yours to be sure first.
Outside the club
You can always go outside the club, and sometimes you should — particularly if your concern is about how the
club itself has handled something.
- NSPCC Helpline — 0808 800 5000, for adults worried about a child.
- Childline — 0800 1111, free and confidential, for anyone under 19.
- Nottinghamshire FA — the county FA’s Designated Safeguarding Officer handles concerns about
clubs, coaches and officials in the county.
- The Football Association — the FA’s safeguarding team oversees safeguarding across the game.
What we expect of everyone here
Coaches, volunteers and staff working with children at Eastwood hold an in-date FA DBS check and are expected
to follow the FA’s Respect Code of Conduct. That applies to parents and spectators on the touchline as much as it
does to the people in the dugout.
Photography and filming at the ground: the club films matches for highlights and for its documentary series.
If you would prefer your child not to appear, tell us and we will work around it.
